Laboratory of Psychopharmacology


The Laboratory was founded in 1984 on the basis of neuropsychotropic drugs screening team.

Ever since 1984 professor Tatyana A. Voronina heads the Laboratory.

16 doctoral and 27 Ph.D. theses were prepared and supported in the Lab. These scientists are working successfully in Russia and other countries abroad.

Main lines of scientific research:

  • Examination of basic mechanisms of action of newly developed and known psychotropic agents with nootropic, anxiolytic, anticonvulsant, antipsychotic and analgetic effects and drugs for treatment and prevention of neurodegenerative diseases (Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases, brain ischemia, epilepsy);
  • Design of novel concepts and targeted search for novel psychotropic substances with selective action among new rows of chemical substances.
